Top 10 Adventures in 2010… Honorable Mentions

Before announcing the final two top adventures I had the opportunity to go on this year,  I thought I would list some honorable mentions!

I really tried to go on at least one adventure each month this year and sometimes found myself going on more.  However, I only gave myself a top 10 list so here are some of the honorable mentions.

– Having the opportunity to cover the Red Bull Cliff Diving Championships was pretty cool… I only give this an honorable mention because I really didn’t do much traveling for this and it came here.

– Checking out the Honoka’a Peace Parade and Staying at the Waianuhea Bed and Breakfast was a nice weekend retreat!

Here’s a short video from the Waianuhea Inn:

– While my trip to California was more of a work related thing… I did have fun at Magic Mountain with my brother when I was there.

X-2 The Ride

– I’ve got to include my stays at the Hilton Waikoloa Village as some of my great adventures!

Not tall enough for the waterslide yet

– Of course most of the times when I go to Oahu… I stay at the Waikiki Resort Hotel so I gotta give them thanks as well!

– I have to say that Ziplining this year with a group of media folks at Big Island Eco Adventure was a blast as well!

– Of course my trip to Vegas was an adventure… although it was a costly one!

Viva Las Vegas

Getting a first hand look at the US Navy’s Blue Angels was pretty cool… although I’m bummed I didn’t get to go up in one of them!

I’m sure I missed a few other adventures I’ve taken this year but I can always change this post later.

Stay tuned for my top two adventures tomorrow!

My Recent Stay at the Waikiki Resort Hotel

Waikiki Resort Hotel
I had the chance to stay this past few days at the Waikiki Resort Hotel!

Waikiki Resort Hotel

Now that I’m back home, I’d like to post some pictures of this place.

Front Entrance

As you enter the hotel, you are met by this gorgeous fountain and surrounding entrance area.

Front Fountain

Stepping inside the resorts lobby, you will find free Wi-Fi and comfortable chairs and couches to sit on.

Lobby

I didn’t get a chance to take a dip in the swimming pool, but it sure looked tempting.

Swimming Pool Area

What looked even more tempting though, was this spa treatment you could get in the hotel.

Spa

The hotel has two restaurants on it’s property, the Ilima…

Ilima Restaraunt

As well as the Seoul Jung that is located on the 2nd floor.

This resort also has conference rooms available for use.  Here we see the entrances to the Lehua and Orchid Rooms.

Conference Rooms

I had never stayed at this hotel… and it really is quite a unique gem tucked away in the heart of Waikiki.

Overhead of Lobby

The room I stayed in looked exactly like the picture on the website:

Room

And it even had a huge Flat Screen TV mounted to the wall.

Room

It had a huge bathroom and closet area

Bathroom

It also had a seperate sink area with a microwave and small refrigerator.

Kitchenette

One of the great things about this hotel, is if you are a local resident, you also can get free parking if you are staying there.  They have both an indoor and outdoor parking lot.

Parking

I really enjoyed my time there and the location was so great, that on the second day I returned my rental car knowing that everything was really close to the hotel.

I will definitely be staying there again!
