Combat Sports to be Suspended in Hawaii

Honolulu – Based upon the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and the Hawaii Department of Health to practice social distancing and limit the spread of the coronavirus through large events, the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) has immediately suspended all combat sports in Hawaii until further notice.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that individuals practice “social distancing”, which means remaining out of crowded public places where close contact with others may occur, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance—approximately 6 feet—from others when possible.

The suspension follows similar actions to cancel or postpone large sporting events across Hawaii and the country. Combat sports licensed and sanctioned by DCCA include mixed martial arts, boxing, and kickboxing events.

Any events that take place without the approval of DCCA may be subject to fines, suspensions, and or license revocations.

Should BJ Penn Retire… The Poll

Well BJ Penn got his ass handed to him tonight by Frankie Edgar in a unanimous decision at UFC 118.

This being his second straight loss to a guy that ESPN ranked the previous fight with him as the biggest upset of the year.

Is it time for BJ Penn to retire?  There is no doubt in my mind that he will be selected to the  UFC Hall of Fame.

Cyborg vs. Carano the Video

The Gina Carano vs. Cris “Cyborg” Santos fight had to be one of the most entertaining MMA fights that I have seen in a long time.

Despite the fact that it only lasted one hour, these two ladies showed that women can get in the ring and mix it up and put on an entertaining fight.  A lot of folks say women shouldn’t be in this sport… but I say if they can keep providing entertaining fights like this… “BRING IT”!

I think the referee stopped the fight just a bit pre mature and I think that Carano was just stalling out and waiting for the bell to ring so she could catch her breath again.

Who knows… but I can’t wait to see the rematch.

BJ Penn’s Pool Jump?

This video that BJ Penn released has been going viral on the internet.

You think this is real… or do you think they staged this and reversed the film?

BJ Penn on Vaselinegate… Wants Rematch With George St. Pierre

BJ Penn had the following to say at his homecoming rally at Ala Moana Center the other day.

“…The most important thing is that we told the commission to watch out for that before the fight, and then they caught him doing it and they didn’t tell us until after the fight,” Penn said. “I just wish they would have told us when it happened. It’s all hindsight now, but maybe they could have taken him to the back and cleaned him off or something.”

Because of the controversy, Penn said he’d like to get another shot at St-Pierre’s welterweight belt. St-Pierre is scheduled to face Brazilian Thiago Alves this summer.

“After I defend my belt and he defends his belt, I’d love to do it again,” Penn said. “Mostly because of the controversy. I just want it to be clean — no questions, no controversy.”

But Penn also admits that he took a beating at UFC 94. He said he can’t even recall what happened in the third and fourth rounds.

“I was probably borderline knocked out or something,” he said. “I just got beat up, that much I know…”

Did George St. Pierre Cheat Against BJ Penn… The Poll

People have been complaining from the time the fight was over that George St. Pierre cheated and used Vaseline to grease up his body.  These pictures certainly are damaging:

Cagewriter blogs:

“…It’s pretty clear by watching the video that Nurse had some Vaseline on his hands when he rubbed St. Pierre’s shoulders, back and chest between the first and second rounds.

Why is that a big deal in mixed martial arts? It’s significant because of all the grappling and maneuvering that takes place on the ground. St. Pierre was on top of Penn in the second round and the Hawaiian tried several times to shift his legs up to work for a triangle choke or an armbar. Grip and some friction is huge in these cases and a slippery fighter would make it more difficult to lock on one of those holds. Above you can see, Nurse apply Vaseline to GSP’s face, then get more Vaseline, then rub his shoulders, arms and back…”

The Reason Why BJ Penn Lost… The Video Explanation

You ever been kissed by someone you really never wanted to be kissed by… EVER????

BJ is really superstitious about people even touching his body… yet this HOOCHIE MAMMA laid a kiss on him right as he was walking into the ring last night!

Of course I’m kidding about that being the reason why he lost… but still!

BJ Penn Taken to Hospital for Observation

…Penn did not attend the post-fight news conference.

“He got beat up, so we sent him to hospital,” said UFC president Dana White….
