Big Island Mother Places Sixth in Florida Ironman

Big Island mother and professional Triathlete Bree Wee placed 6th today in the 2011 Florida Ironman.

She lead the race after the swim section and the biking section but then fell back during the run.

Bree takes on the Bike at the Florida Ironman

Bree posted on her website the other day the following comments about the pending race:

I have no clue on how my 140.6 will unfold tomorrow. Of course I have dreams of how I want it to unfold. My heart has been poured into training for the day that awaits me, the miles, the sweat, the tears, the hours and hours of passion put into play-it’s been done. The opportunity given to me has been close to heart too, full on knowing those that have made this possible for me, and I mean possible as so many things have flown out the window like a crazy breeze sweeping through, great people have helped me stand strong in the breezes…thank you…

Bree posted the following on Facebook after today’s race showing she’s still got a great sense of humor after such a long race:

I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me…Phil 1:3. THAT was one crazy Ironman, left me with some pretty intense hickeys too!

I’d like to personally say congrats to Bree!  She continues to amaze me each and every time she races!
