Island Dairy to “Pamper” Cows with “Waterbeds” to Get Better Milk Production

The dairy’s plans mean that O’ahu, Maui and Kaua’i residents may be able to buy local milk in stores for the first time in years. The fresh milk is currently distributed to Whole Foods, Foodland and Sack-N-Save…

…It has yet to be seen if Island Dairy cows will prefer Hawaiian music over classical.

Foodland to Begin Selling Island Dairy Milk

Island Dairy, one of the two remaining dairies in Hawaii, now is selling its milk at Foodland stores. The Big Island dairy will distribute whole, low-fat and fat-free milk under the label, Hawaii’s Fresh Milk…

The company, which uses solar power and grows its own feed, is trying to become sustainable as well as produce enough milk for the entire state
