Hawaii: 1946 Tsunami Photos Overlain with 2010 Views

You’ve seen archival photos of the 1946 tsunami damage in Hilo, but you’ve never seen anything like this.

Sean O’Neill carefully photographed the identical locations in 2010, and this video morphs each archival photo into its modern counterpart.

The result is stunning, as you watch the same tree or telephone pole or concrete pier, surrounded by water and debris in black-and-white, melt into a color photo that is precisely aligned.
