Hawaii Coaches and Athletic Directors to be Recognized

WHAT:  Recognition of Coaches and Athletic Directors participating in Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) program

WHEN:  Monday, October 7, 2013, 9:30 A.M. 

WHERE:  Room 329, Hawaii State Capitol, 415 South Beretania Street

WHY: The Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) program, created by Futures Without Violence and implemented in Hawaii by the non-profit Ala Kuola, equips athletic coaches with strategies, scenarios and resources needed to build attitudes and behaviors among young male athletes that promote respectful, healthy relationships. Coaches have numerous opportunities to teach early and often that violence has no place in relationships. In addition October has been designated Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the State of Hawaii.
