Pahoa is a unique little town.

Clock in front of Historic Akebono Theater
The Akebono theater is definitely one of the landmarks in town

We also have a church in town that has some interesting sites.

Interesting angle of Statue from the road across from Paul's Gas Station
The town has lots of small shops and businesses that are all within walking distance of eachother.

The "South Side" of Town
If you look closely on a lot of the shops, you can get an idea of some of the problems and concerns of the residents of the area.

Rat Lungworm has been a big concern
Everything from health to Hawaiian things can be found in the windows of some of the shops.

Save an Ancient Hawaiian Burial Cave
You can find just about everything… including Lava Tours.

Even some of the buildings have very unique murals on them.

"The Healing Nation"
This one is on the side of the Thai Restaurant.

"Aloha"
This one is on the back of the Pahoa Museum.

Of course Rudedogg would shoot me (with a tattoo gun) if I didn’t at least take a picture of his sign.

We even have a spa and massage parlor!

Paradissimo Tropica Spa & Massage
We even have lodging right in the center of town.

Island Paradise Inn
There are a few cute coffee shops

Sirius Coffee
A health food store

Island Naturals Market & Deli
And we even have a great Aquatics Center… I just wish the pool temperature was a bit warmer!

So cold someone had to get out and warm up at his swim lessons!
Today only one lane was open through town for a good period of time.

One lane of traffic today
As utility work was going on.

They say people do funny things in the bushes here in Pahoa.

Interesting spot to dispose of a bottle
But on my walk… I only found a few harmless things in the bushes.

Our town can be so cool… that one second gas will be one price

And just by walking by the place and looking at the other side of the sign… the price of gas will just instantly drop.

Our town is so cool… that even our cars are cool.

Sanpan?
Yes folks… you see those wheels… this is a converted Mercedes.
