Big Island Police Reclassify Investigation of Eden Roc Body to Murder Investigation – Identify Victim

Big Island police have reclassified the investigation of body a found Saturday in the Eden Roc subdivision from a coroner’s inquest to a murder.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday morning (January 31) determined that the victim died from a combination of ligature strangulation and a brain injury from a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Robert John Leong of Eden Roc.

Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation.

  1. Johnny was a dear friend to me, he held me up when I was down, even the thousands of miles seperating us didn’t matter, he was my friend and didn not deserve to go out of this world like this. If anyone has any information about where to even find his obit, or where he was placed to rest, I would greatly apreciate it.
