Kokua Kailua Village Stroll Presents Free Concert With Paula Fuga

Historic Kailua Village’s monthly Kokua Kailua is scheduled for Sunday, September 18 from 1pm until 6pm oceanfront along Alii Drive. September’s Kokua Kailua  welcomes Hawaiian songstress and Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Paula Fuga for a free concert which will begin at 5:00pm.

Paula Fuga will perform at 5pm during Kokua Kailua on Sept. 18.

Fuga will be in town to help launch Kau Kau Kailua Restaurant Week which also begins on Sunday, September 18.

Following Kokua Kailua and the Fuga concert, residents and visitors are encouraged to seek out participating Kau Kau Kailua Restaurant Week eateries and enjoy specially crafted 3-course dinners for $20, $30 or $40 per person depending on the restaurant. Special values are also planned at quick service restaurants. Sunday, September 18 through Saturday, September 24 during Kau Kau Kailua Restaurant Week is an ideal time to discover new restaurants and re-visit favorites while supporting local businesses during this traditionally slow period.

Mahalo is extended to Kau Kau Kailua Restaurant Week partners Anheuser Busch Sales of Hawaii, First Hawaiian Bank, HFM FoodService and West Hawaii Today.

And remember, during Kokua Kailua when Alii Drive is transformed into a pedestrian-only walkway, farmers, artists, and crafts vendors line the thoroughfare and merchants showcase their wares, there is no better time to discover and support the businesses of Historic Kailua Village. There will also be free Hawaiian music on the lawn at Hulihee Palace beginning at 4:00pm.

The next Kokua Kailua is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 2011,
Kokua Kailua Village Stroll is sponsored by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Destination Kona Coast, Kailua Village Merchants Association, Hulihee Palace, West Hawaii Today and Pacific Radio Group. The program is designed to rally support for merchants and restaurants and to remind residents to shop, dine and buy local.
