Oceanic Big Island Road Runner Users Getting Screwed!

Have you been having troubles uploading pictures, videos, or anything else of late?

I’m a bit frustrated that I’m not able to upload large files ever since we have had our fiber cut.

I will be researching ways to get a refund for my internet service until I am able to upload files to the internet.

I have no problem downloading files… as seen by the results on the tests here… anyone else on the Big Island having troubles with the upload speeds?

Battle of the BBQ – The Winner is…

On Saturday, as part of the Mai Tai Festival and Third Eye Blind concert held at the Royal Kona Resort, they had a “Battle of the BBQ” that featured some of the best Big Island restaurants.

Scrip was sold and for every $10.00 worth of scrip you purchased, you were allowed one voting ticket for the peoples choice award.

My peoples choice ticket went to this Beef Brisket slider prepared by Jakes Restaurant.

The above was served by the folks at Jakes below and I found out that they went on to win the “Peoples Choice Award“.

If I were ever going to be a judge at an event like this… there is no way I could eat everything… (notice how there is still lots of food left on their plates)

The event also had a lot of arts and crafts vendors that were selling everything from Mai Tai Mugs…

to hand woven lauhala items…

For under $20.00 I was totally full and took food back up to my room for later!

The common theme this year amongst most of the restaurants was that they seemed to either have Ribs or Sliders as their menu item which only ran 2 scrip or $2.00 bucks a plate!

More ribs

And of course it wouldn’t be a barbecue without chicken!

I always think using real charcoal is the best way to cook chicken!

The “Judges Choice” and a winner of a 5 day vacation on Maui was …
