Mahalo James Weatherford, Candidate Hawaii County Council – District 5

I received my first ever political campaign check for an “AD on my blog” from James Weatherford a candidate for County Council 5 a few days ago and I just wanted to thank Dr. Weatherford for supporting my blog.

As I told him in a recent receipt:

…Please understand that placing an ad on my site will not prevent me from blogging anything and everything that I so choose to blog about…. whether it has to do with you now… or in the future if elected.

(Sorry Dr. W… This is the only way I know how to really be legit about taking money from ANY CANDIDATE)…

If any other political candidates would like to place an ad on my blog… I will only call it an “Ad”.   I will not call it a “Sponsorship” as some of the sponsors I have on my blog are just that… sponsors of my blog.

The rate is $30.00 per month for the same size as Dr. Weatherford’s ad.

I’d like to thank James for supporting my blog.

If any other candidates wish to place an ad on my blog… feel free to contact me at damontucker @

  1. I have one political ad on my blog and that is of Jerry Chang. I will only place ads of people and businesses that I can support on my blog. But everyone must set their own standard.
    Good luck Dr. James!

  2. Is $30 a month the non-profit rate? I might know some customers.

    • $30.00 is my monthly “political ad” rate.

My other rates vary depending on size of ad. Typically they begin at $40.00 bucks a month… however, I love to work trades with local companies even more then receiving money.

  3. Aloha Damon,

There are about 10,000 registered voters in District 5, and I look forward to personally meeting as many as possible during the campaign — and after I am elected.

Meanwhile, I appreciate the opportunity to use some space here so that folks on your site can become aware of my candidacy. With my website linked to the ad, they can find out more about me and my campaign.

Hopefully, there will be multiple opportunities for voters to meet and hear all of the candidates in public forums. I have talked with some community organizations with intentions of sponsoring such public forums.
