“Band Champ” Semi-Finals to be Held Tonight at the Hilo Civic

Hawaii’s first-ever youth band talent competition, Band Champ, will hold its semi-finals at the Hilo Civic Center, Saturday, March 7 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Ten Feet, one of Hawaii’s hottest island music bands, will perform several hit songs from their latest album ‘Everyday’ including, I’m Yours, True and Windward Skies.


The island’s most promising bands from, Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Honokaa High School, Pahoa High School and Hilo High School will square off to find out who will represent the island during the Band Champ finale on Oahu, March 21.  The Big Island semi-final winner will receive a custom Washburn electric guitar.

The winning band will compete during the finale against bands from Kauai, Maui and Oahu.

The overall winning band receives $5,000; a recording contract for a single; an opportunity to open for a Tom Moffatt concert; and Mobi PCS phones.

Band Champ is produced by A Tom Moffatt Productions presented by BURGER KING® and sponsored Mobi PCS.  Various giveaways will also be provided.
