Screw 3-D TV… Check Out the 4-D Movies at the Shops at Mauna Lani

About 10 days ago my wife, son and his cousin all went to the The Shops at Mauna Lani and we got to go on The Great 4-D Movie Ride.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Shops at Mauna Lani, it’s a great little place to bring the kids to play in fountains in the courtyard.

New Surf and Paddleboard Shop Open on Big Island

Media Release:

The Shops at Mauna Lani announced today the addition of Hulakai, a surfboard, stand-up paddleboard and surf apparel lifestyle store.  The new 1,400 square foot store is located across from The Shops’ signature water feature center stage and will be open beginning Monday, December 13th.

Hulakai originally formed in 1997 when owner Jun Balanga began shaping longboards in Puako.  Jun’s first stand up paddleboard was shaped in 2001, well before the current popularity of stand up paddleboards.

Currently Hulakai is Hawaii’s #1 selling stand up paddleboard maker.  They are also Board Sponsor for the Stand Up World Tour ending on the Big Island this month in Hilo. (http://www.standupworldtour.com/index.php/the-2010-tour/the-2010-tour/hawaii-island-finals-3/)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J81iIrBijxw]

“Hulakai is a core surf/sup company with emphasis on the sport,” said owner Sarah Taylor-Balanga.  “For those new to the sport of stand up paddleboarding or surfing, or those looking for high performance, Hulakai has a wide line of boards and knowledgeable staff to help fit everyone to a board.  Plus, we offer demos and lessons daily for those who are new to the sport.”  Both Jun and Sarah pride themselves in the quality of their products and services that they provide.

The Shops at Mauna Lani store will carry a full line of surf boards, paddleboards, beach gear, board shorts, swimwear, children’s clothing, ding repair, and accessories.  They also offer surfing and stand up paddleboard lessons, kayak and beach rentals, snorkel tours, Hawaiian sailing canoes and more at their second location in the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows beach area.
