KOA Puna 2011 Toys for Tots Campaign

KOA Puna MC is at it again with the kickstart of the 2011 Toys for Tots Campaign. This year they have a list of 400 keiki that have requested Christmas gifts from Santa and the club has a series of events scheduled to raise money and collect new toys for the drive.

Started in 1947 by the United States Marine Corps, the Toys for Tots program has collected and distributed over 500 million toys in the U.S. Every year, many groups, individuals, organizations and corporations have helped to raise money and collect new toys for kids, and this year in Puna the Toys for Tots drive is going strong. Working in association with the Maku’u Farmer’s Association, and local businesses, the club is working toward the goal of raising¬† $10,000.00 to gift 400 toys to local keiki.
