The “Global Legends” team defeated the Hilo All Stars tonight 69 – 55.
The Hilo All Stars, lead by Mayor Billy Kenoi, put on a good fight but in the end it wasn’t enough to beat the legendary team.
The real winners of tonight though… were the kids of the Big Island who got to see such a great entertaining game.
My wife was having a great time… until one of the legends decided to give her a big sweaty hug during the middle of the game!
But I guess that’s what happens when your sitting in the best seats in the house… just glad he didn’t bear hug me!
During half-time, Special Olympics Champion, Louie Perry was honored as well.
The Honoka’a Special Olympics Basketball team the “Honoka’a Hawks” also got to take the court and meet the teams during half-time.
It was a great game and I just want to remind folks that there is another game tonight (Saturday) in Kona at the Kekuaokalani Gym and tickets are available at the door.
