On Monday (August 29) officers responded to a 3:40 p.m. report of an unresponsive woman in a pool at a resort on Mauna Kea Beach Drive. When police and Fire Department personnel arrived, resort staff members were attempting cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. Fire Department personnel took over attempts to revive the victim but were unsuccessful.

The victim has been identified as 76-year-old Brenda Chodroff of Lafayette, California.
