Wireless detectors embedded in the roadway surface will detect cars and trucks approaching the intersection and program the traffic signal to optimize traffic flow.

Ane Keohokālole Highway runs parallel to and about a mile mauka of the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway from Palani Road to Hina-Lani Street in Kaloko.  The Highway funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act opened to the public in June 2012.
