Pohala I Puna – Recovery Day in Puna:

The intent and purpose for this event is to raise awareness about the many organizations and agencies that we have here in Puna and our surrounding communities that assists individuals and families struggling with issues such as homelessness, teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse,teen smoking, hunger, psychological and mental health, and domestic violence.
We want to create a venue for organizations and agencies to engage in each others mission to stimulate communication for maximum service to our ohana and our communities well being.
We are also organizing a community walk from Pahoa High School to Kanaka O Puna (old police station in Pahoa) where the women is going to dress their men in dresses and high heel shoes and walk along with various community groups to bring attention the significance and awareness of domestic violence to the businesses, shops, schools, restaurants and our community at large.
There will be food, fun, fellowship. There will be lots of music entertainment.
