Close to 1,000 Breathalyzers Installed in First Year of Hawaii Ignition Interlock Law

I just read the following from one of the candidates for the 2012 Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney candidates, Mitch Roth on Twitter:

Our Ignition Interlock law is doing great!! In the first year we have installed close to 1000 in car breathalyzers in our State of Hawaii. According to JoAnn Hamaji-Oto the State Director of Smart Start, the company that installs ignition interlock instruments in Hawaii, we have had 3,192 alcohol positive prevented starts between Jan. to Nov. 15. Moreover, we have had 68 people with court mandated instruments installed in their cars that have tested at .16 and above.
