Kona Crime Prevention Police Officer of the Year Luncheon

Hawaii Police Department

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee’s Officer of the Year luncheon will be held on Wednesday, September 14, at 11:45 AM at the King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel in Kailua Kona.

Every month the Kona Crime Prevention Committee honors a Hawai’i County Police officer for their outstanding performance in the line of duty.  They are Carrie Akina, Scotty Aloy, Sharlotte Bird, Calvin Delaries, Ellsworth Fontes, Bradley Freitas, Erich Jackson, Jeremy Scotty Lewis, William Marciniak, Marco Segobia, and Sean Smith.  Each of these Officers of the Month is eligible to participate in the Officer of the Year selection and will be introduced at this luncheon.

Members of the community have donated gifts and/or sponsorship for these officers every month and for this event. Donations are welcomed. The Officer of the Year Luncheon is $35.00 and reservations must be made with Liz Holey Lholey@hawaii.rr.com or phone 443-7708 by September 12.

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is celebrating its 40th year, as it continues to encourage and support our police department in their efforts to prevent crime, deter potential criminals and enforce our laws. The Committee also provides needed police equipment for use by our Kona District Officers when Department funds cannot support those needs, as well as raising funds to support Kona DARE, Kona PAL and police education projects. Their monthly luncheons are open to the public and everyone is welcome.
