Price Agreement for Furnishing(s) Body Removal Service to the Hawaii Police Department???

I don’t know if I’m reading into this Request For Proposal (RFP) correctly or not… but from the looks of what is posted on the Counties Finance – Purchasing information and Status site the following is listed for a Price Agreement for Furnishings Body Removal Service to the Hawaii Police Department of the County of Hawaii and the Bids are due by September 14th at 2:00 pm.

Anyone care to let me in on what this could be about?

  1. Seriously, Damon? Try ask Steve Wilhelm, who is clearly the County point of contact. He may or may not have a better answer than a pseudonymous commenter…

  2. Damon, I believe that there is no specific person on payroll at the PD or FD that holds a permanet position of “body recovery”, This position is held on an on call basis and therefore, the State/County saves $$$ since there is no need to have anyone on 24/7 basis. The job is sent out for bid if i am not mistaken, it used to be on an independent basis long ago I think. My friend’s son held that job for a good period of time. The job does exist although, not everyone is capable of dealing with this.
