Global Legends Youth Foundation Basketball Camp and Games on the Big Island

Elbert “Tree” Gordon and the Global Legends Youth Foundation Basketball Camp is happening this week at the Hilo Afook-Chinen Auditorium and today I had an opportunity to drop in on the camp and talk to “Tree” and his staff for a few minutes.

There were about 50 – 70  kids participating in the camp and when I arrived they were broken into different age groups and skill stations.

I had a chance to talk to “Tree” outside for a minute or two and this is what he had to say about the camp and the upcoming celebrity basketball games that are going to be happening on the Big Island in the next few days.

“Tree” took time to talk with and pose for pictures with Pahoa’s own National Gold Medal Winner at the 2011 Special Olympics, Louie Perry.

Local coaches were also on hand to assist with the legends.

Friday’s game against the Hilo “All Stars” will be at the Afook-Chinen Auditorium with the doors opening at 6:00 pm and the money from the ticket sales goes to local charities.

Saturdays game will be against the Kona All Stars at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium with the doors also opening at 6.
