HI-PAL “Click it or Ticket” Pahoa 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

The East Hawaii Police Activities League (HI-PAL) “Click it or Ticket” 3 on 3 basketball tournament was held at the Pahoa High School Gymnasium today.

Officer Joseph “Joey” Botelho coordinated the days events.

The morning began with Officer Joey Botelho talking to the kids about the importance of using your seat belt and other dangers such as using drugs.

It was a double elimination tournament and about 15 teams entered from the ages of 5 – 12 years old.

The Keaau Chargers had multiple teams entered into the tournament

Medals were given out to the top three places in each of the age divisions:

First Place in their age division was the “Lil Titans #1” (Left to Right) Dylan Villanueva, Brady Yamada, Orrin Yamada and Coach Donald Yamada

My son didn’t make any baskets in the make shift hoops that they use for his age division.

It’s the thought that counts!

But he did manage to score at least one “Block”!

My sons team that he played on today got third place which was good enough for a medal.

I’d like to thank all the folks that came out to support this event.  All the kids were winners in the long run!
