Big Island Mango Festival Seeks Participants

Media Release:

Get your mouth watering for all the juicy fun at the free annual Mango Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at the Keauhou Beach Resort.

The all-day, family festival celebrates Hawaii’s delicious and diverse mango varieties during the peak of the harvest season. Mango mania includes fruit tastings, grafting and growing demonstrations and culinary expertise. See why mango is ranked among the most widely produced and consumed fruit in the world.

Also on tap are sustainable living displays and opportunities to experience the healing arts. Enjoy a novel Eco Fashion Show and non-stop Hawaiian music and dramatic hula on the scenic, palm-fringed grounds of the Keauhou Beach Resort’s Royal Garden. Kumu Hula Keala Ching will open the festival with a traditional Hawaiian pule (prayer).

The mango celebration is a zero waste event and presented by the non-profit Sanctuary of Mana Ke‘a Gardens with support from the Keauhou Beach Resort.

The community is invited to collaborate, support and participate. Exhibitor booths are available for businesses and non-profit organizations. Volunteers are encouraged to help with festival day activities, speaker support and workshops. For info, contact event organizer Randyl Rupar at 808-334-3340.
