Gov. Nikki Haley has picked an agency director from Hawaii to lead South Carolina’s cash-strapped Department of Social Services. Haley announced Thursday that she wants Lillian Koller to lead the agency that oversees children’s welfare. Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono urges her colleagues to support a resolution condemning the attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Arizona. Six people were fatally shot and 13 others wounded in the violent act.

My favorite artist right now, Na Hoku Award Winner Anuhea Jenkins, just announced on Facebook that she was asked to sing the National Anthem at this years Pro Bowl! “Holy football!!! I’m singing the National Anthem at the Pro-Bowl!” This is a pretty big deal as she will now be featured all across America.
