After a long 15 years, Pop Warner “Flag” Football has returned to the Pahoa-Puna district after the hard work of many involved.
The Puna Panthers were spearheaded by Fred Blas, Keven Lee and Kyle Lee and they had their first game today at Hawaiian Beaches Park.
I started playing football when I was 8 years old and the things that I learned from playing on a team that young… stuck with me for the rest of my life.
It was great to see so many folks from the community come out to this historic event. Even Hunter Bishop from the Mayor’s Office made.
Teamwork is the key to winning football games and these kids definitely had teamwork.
Its pretty cool because they are allowing females to play which definitely wasn’t allowed when I was playing.
From what I could tell, it looks like the Pahoa-Puna Panthers have several different teams at different age groups… But there always seems to be that one big boy that just looks like he would kill the smaller kids!
