Cheating Death?

Big Island blogger Larry O’Brien suggested just a week ago that I contact an Ultra Light Pilot named Tedd Hecklin to try and see about getting a “Blog Junket” tour of the Big Island with Tedd’s Flying Adventure.

On Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 5:08 PM I sent Ted an email about doing an Ultra Light tour of the Big Island.  I’m not going to print the content of that Email as I don’t know if he received it or not and did not respond to it.

I’m devastated to learn today via Hawaii24/7 that Tedd and a passenger passed away today on an Ultralight trip.

Two people were killed Wednesday morning when a small aircraft crashed into Kealakekua Bay.

The pilot was identified as 38-year-old Tedd Robert Hecklin, owner of Tedd’s Flying Adventures in Kailua-Kona.

The passenger was identified as Kathryn Grace Moran, 37, of Kailua-Kona…

Mayor Kenoi’s Office Confirms $4.5 Million Dollar Lawsuit

I mentioned the other day that there was a pending lawsuit against the county,  last night I asked Mayor Kenoi’s office about the pending lawsuit and this is what Public Information Specialist Hunter Bishop’s response was:

Damon,

We received a copy of a First Amended Complaint that was filed with the Court. We have turned the matter over to the Office of Corporation Counsel, which handles all legal matters for the County. We expect that they will respond appropriately in Court.

I see in today’s paper… it expands a bit more on this:

“..To answer your question, unfortunately, there is an attorney who is working on your side, and I have just been served, so I can’t comment on anything,” Kubojiri said, an apparent reference to a lawsuit against the police, the county, Kubojiri, Mahuna, Mayor Billy Kenoi and others filed by Michael Ruggles, who was present at the meeting…”

WordPress Surprise Pops Up Volcano, Hawaii

WordPress, the blogging service that I use… has surprised WordPress users with a new feature that shows how many visitors have visited your site in comparison to the size of a local city for a temporary time.

Last night when I checked it… the following popped up:

Today you have had 896 views.

That’s about the same number of households in Volcano, Hawaii.
