I will be posting other polls in the future for other races. I myself posted the poll just to see where folks are thinking early on in the stage.

I will be closing the current poll and releasing the exact numbers. I will be posting future District 5 Polls that will have a clean start again as folks tend to change their minds about candidates along the way and as political views are shared amongst others.

I'm not following the PCDP as closely as I'd like to, however, I am watching the process and frustrated that it doesn't seem like Puna really gets heard most of the time.

I myself think Mayor Kenoi has done a fairly good job in bringing a bit more attention to Puna then the Mayor Kim administration. For what it's worth... I was a Pilago supporter during the election.

Aloha
I am following the PCDP closely and appreciate Damon's coverage. I would suggest that readers watch what is happening with CDPs in other districts too.

I am also following the Dist 5 race blog. Because all CDPs must be adopted by ordinance, all three Hawaii County Councilmembers holding office to hopefully represent Puna should all be looked at carefully. Will you be examining the other two races?

I recognize that the focus of this blog seems to be Pahoa, but as a Puna resident I can't accept the political gerrymandering inflicted on Puna residents.I feel unity with all of Puna. When former Mayor Harry Kim gated the road between Ainaloa and Hawaiian Acres his action hurt upper and lower Puna and was another manifestation of the artificial divisions imposed by Hawai`i officials on residents of Puna. I think all Puna residents need to pull together for candidates that represent Puna, especially if we want the PCDP to work for Puna residents.
