Second Planning Workshop For Kamakana Village At Keahuolu

Media Release:

Forest City, in partnership with the State of Hawaii, invites the public to attend a second planning workshop for Kamakana Village At Keahuolu, the mixed-use affordable housing community planned for the Keahuolu ahupua‘a.

In the first planning meeting held this past summer, the project team heard from more than 70 community residents. The group identified major themes that characterized the future lifestyle of the West Hawaii community fifteen to twenty years from now. Connectivity, accessibility, gathering places, education, open space and residences will provide the structural foundation.

Community members attending the workshop scheduled for Monday, October 19 will continue this visioning process as the project moves into the design phase.

Forest City Hawaii encourages interested community members to attend to help plan for Kona’s future.

This workshop will be held pursuant to the applicable requirements of Hawaii Revised Statutes, Chapters 201H and 205, Section 15-15-97, Hawaii Administrative Rules, and the Kona Community Development Plan (Ordinance No. 08 131).
