There is no malicious intent with this post. I have a blog and have been asked to help some folks to “out” someone who seems to be scamming quite a few people these days. It’s not just one or two people… it really seems like a lot of folks.
I hope those folks that are friends with both of us… Know me well enough to know that I don’t put up with much BS. Online scammers, make it difficult for people who do try to make legitimate business online that much more difficult to do.
You may have seen her on TV, you may have seen her in person, and if you’re on Twitter… there is no way that you can miss her with 80,000+ followers.

Now your probably thinking… “Damon… why are you even meddling in this ladies life”…
Well the problem is… She burned one of my friends… Well known comedian Andy Bumatai for what I understand is close to about $4,000.
His official Statement is as follows:
AndyBumatai My official stance will be “She misrepresented herself and her ability to perform agreed upon promotions.
Mr. Knowlton is just now putting things on twitter to piece this case together. It’s my understanding that Mr. Bumatai has sought the advice of a Lawyer in his attempts to recoup his money.
I’ve never met AlohaArleen myself. She has always seemed rather nice and cordial to me. However, I have met others in real life now that have warned me long before today… that she was someone to be careful of.

It was a bit of a tell when I got a DM from her congratulating me for something. Most honest people are happy to give credit to other people in public.

UPDATE: Aloha Arlene actually got someone to marry her! According to her twitter profile, her new last name is Boyd. Still living on the islands. You can find wedding pics by scrolling through her twitpic gallery. There are also pics of her new audio/video gear, fine dining, etc., which would seem to indicate that she has found some money. As in…money that could even be used to pay bills she owes!

I have a friend who is currently engaged to this woman. Question: do you think she is dangerous? I am concerned that he knows nothing about any of this (assuming it is all true) and it will ruin his life. I’m not even sure how to go about telling him, as I’m sure he won’t believe it. It does seem a bit farfetched…
If he were my friend… and he found out later that you knew and didn’t tell him… how do you think he would feel about you holding a secret from him that could potentially damage him for life.

Do you know this stuff first hand? How has it been verified? This guy is extremely intelligent and I can’t believe he has been taken in (and he has assets, which I’m guessing she has figured out). I think unless he sees hardcore proof, he will disbelieve. He is so far down the path of marrying this woman (next month) that I don’t know how to break this to him, and if he wouldn’t believe me, why would he believe a total stranger?

I have been doing all the things I can legally afford to do in trying to get @AlohaArleen to pay the money she has owed me since 2004 Judgment . As soon as I locate her and get her served with any papers which I did in South Dakota and California she seems to slip away. She seems to position herself with people that have money or a service that she could benefit from. She now owes me more than $32k with interest. If she would have paid me in July when I contacted her none of this would have come to light but she ignored me, flaunted her money with all her tweets and you tube vids and then it came to light she was taking advantage of other people and has broken the trust of the people of Hawaii which disturbs me. This is when I knew I had to go public and with the help of everyone involved she is now being exposed. She is good at what she does and if she fooled you too then we have something in common. How does it feel Arleen? Have you packed you bags yet? Aloha, Arleen!!!
I don’t think she has any money to pay anyone. Unless she somehow scammed a real big fish but I don’t think she could. She isn’t that good of a scammer. I have a couple a checks that she wrote me for tour services that I tried to cash and there has been no money in the account for who knows how long.

The local yokel cops don’t care! They told me to go find her myself and take her to court.
I am so happy in many ways that this person has been found out at last. I ran against her in the shorty awards last year and quickly figured out that she was a dodgy cow.

I am disgusted and also angry for starters that she scammed those awards but also the majority of Hawaii, so much so that during the awards she had scouts trying to follow me, and because of this I stopped following folk from Hawaii.
I am so glad that today I decided against this rule and found out about what had happened overnight.
I apologise to any real people from hawaii who tried to follow me on twitter and I refused to allow it, now that can change thankfully.
I also feel so sorry for the people out there who have got caught up in her scams, and do hope something, anything, good can come out from it.

It’s a good thing I don’t have many Twitter followers or follow that many people. I was wondering who this was after I saw several posts from the few Twitter followers I do have mention this lady and her handle.
Bottom line is be careful who you follow or even trust.
Damon you are a brave person to do this. The documents look real and the charges are felonies. How could she do something so visible and not get caught. Or is it so many were ashamed to come forward. I hope there are no more victims out there. But there probably are alot more than we will ever know.

I knew something was up with this lady many months ago..when I questioned her about her clients and what she could do for me.She couldn’t even answer what she did or what she offered.

It’s going around the grapevine, that recently ******** was convicted of Tax Evasion. If true, where is the ALOHA in that? Cheating on taxes is no small ‘mistake’.
Damon – I will not allow any unfounded comments on my blog. If you have evidence of this… you are welcome to forward it to me for further examination. If the person in question above is facing Tax Evasion… so be it… that is a personal problem and not one that effects many folks that want to live the aloha way here in Hawaii.
If someone would cheat the government, what is legally owed to the government, then in my and many of my friend’s view, that would cast some doubt, on that person’s credibility and HONESTY. Especially when it comes to then accusing, someone else of something similar i.e. not paying what is legally owed to other’s. Convictions are open record, so if this is true, then it would be in the public records in Hawaii. Tax Evasion, is not living the Aloha way. It’s everyone’s duty to follow the law, even in this way.

The tech community welcomed Arleen with open, innocent arms. And she violated that trust by taking money and giving nothing in return.
Don’t take down this post, sir. Get your lawyers ready in case she tries to pull some craps and just tweet us when you need help. Speaking only for myself, I’ll put a few bucks into the kitty if needed.
Arleen has to go. We need to send a signal loud and clear: word travels fast in Hawaii. You blew your our trust. You’re done.

I heard this is not the first person she has left high and dry here in Hawaii just ask around a little.
Whatever you do pay only on delivery of services, or ask for payment in advance of anything you do.
She will come to realize that Hawaii is a very small place to live, and the courts here will use past convictions and throw her butt in Jail.
As a local small business owner that has just got myself onto Twitter, I’m appalled that this person has been allowed to get away with so much. How can someone even do this to someone else, and not just once, obviously?

4. She has over 30 civil cases including the IRS
This is not good. Not good at all. What about someone such as myself who has a business where people find me on-line, and trust me with thousands of dollars to produce a product for them.
What I don’t understand is that it sounds like she was convicted of fraud and why doesn’t our legal system protect us against these people just like they do sex offenders? Put their names on a national database too.
Just like other scammers…there are no laws against people like her…to the person that she wrote bad checks to…TURN HER IN NOW!!! First time bad check offenders are given the opportunity to avoid criminal prosecution by attending a mandatory, eight hour intervention class, in addition to paying restitution
