Lucky We Live in Paradise… Hawaii Nui Brewing

I’m not gonna beat around the bush here folks, but I’m proud that Hawaii Nui Brewing has agreed to “sponsor” this blog by trading their great product for my I don’t know what you call it product.

Today, I got a chance to go down to the brewery located at 275 E. Kawili Street in Hilo and take a tour of the place and chew the ear off of President and Founder of the Company Keith Kinsey.

The company headquarters is right here in Hilo across from Hawaii Community College in what was the former Pepsi Bottling company.

Mr. Kinsey was kind enough to show me some of the steps that it takes to make the beer that they sell throughout the Islands.

This is a 24-Head Meyer Filler:

The filler can fill 24 bottles of beer at a time.

This is the “Crowner”:

The “Crowner” basically puts the caps on top of the bottles.

The bottles then get sent through this machine which I forgot what it does exactly.

Heater?

And then after that, they are ready to be labeled with this labeler:

I was amazed at all of the malt that they had on hand.  This is a one months supply:

Just one of these bags can make about 300 pints of beer.

Now I realize why this beer is so good… they are getting their Malt from the State that I’m from!

The Brewery has a gift shop and tasting room where you can find lot’s of stuff.

Paige, their tasting room server offered me some samples, but I had a long drive home and figured I better not tempt myself.

One of the great things about Hawaii Nui’s Beers, is that they are the freshest bottled beer in Hawaii.

I even sent out this tweet live from the place:

@hawaiinuibrew here is @jwalshhi brewing Volcano Red. http://twitgoo.com/1dwyb
