Applying for the PCDP Action Committee?

After serving about 9 months on the States KPAG Highway 130 Committee and having about 99 % of my ideas shot down, I was thinking of applying for the Puna Community Development Plan Action Committee.

However, after reading today’s article in the paper that Mayor Kenoi himself has already turned down so many applicants already… I’m not even gonna go through the process of applying.

I hate filling out that kind of paper work.

I’m simply going to submit my resume directly to Mayor Kenoi’s email with a short cover letter telling him I’m interested in applying to be on this committee.

I understand full well ahead of time that I probably won’t be selected for this action committee simply for the fact that I’m not filling out the application and going through the proper process to get nominated to this position… But it doesn’t sound like they are really following a process to begin with.

If I get selected… so be it… If I don’t… so be it.

But I don’t want to hear anyone telling me that I got personal favorites from someone up above if I do get selected.

I understand there were 36 people already screened and only 18 of them got passed onto the Mayors office.  Out of those only 6 were chosen?  Sounds like a process to slow down the PCDP.

Here is the email I’m sending into his office:

Dear Mayor Kenoi,

I would like to apply for the Puna Community Development Plan Action committee.

Sincerely,

Damon Tucker

  1. Well done, Damon!

    I hope you are successful.

Maybe the lack of “diversity” was that there were no bloggers? ;)
