Starting Today: Big Island Schools Compete in KTA S’port Up

KTA Super Stores, along with Hawaiian Airlines and Sports Line, have teamed up for a third straight year for S’port Up!, a six-week promotion to help fund high school athletic programs across the island of Hawai’i.
This year’s Sport Up! theme, “Help Shape the Face of the Future,” runs from February 18 – March 31, and is aimed at raising funds for participating Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) high schools. To date, S’port Up! has assisted high school athletics with over $100,000 worth of sports equipment and travel…
…This year’s participating schools include, Christian Liberty Academy, Hawai’i Preparatory Academy, Hilo High School, Honoka’a High School, Kamehameha High School, Ka’u High School, Kea’au high School, Kealakehe High School, Kohala High School, Konawaena High School, Laupahoehoe High School, Makua Lani Christian School, Pahoa High School, Parker High School, St. Joseph High School and Waiakea High School…
…Shoppers write the corresponding school code (which will be provided at registers) of their favorite school on the back of their receipt and provide it to the cashier to accumulate points. At the end of the program, the points are put toward travel and equipment expenses, with each participating school receiving a minimum of $500 ($250 for travel, $250 for equipment)…
