UFC Post Fight Interviews Live… BJ Penn Loses to George St. Pierre

You can watch the post fight interviews to tonights fights here… while they are still being broadcast.

If you don’t know what happened in the BJ Penn fight, he got rocked at the end of the Fourth round and his corner people stopped the fight.

I had George St. Pierre ahead in all rounds.

BJ looked really slow tonight.

  1. Every time BJ Penn loses a fight he has something to complain about. It’s never about him losing to a superior fighter, it’s how he was wronged in some way.

However, after his fight with GSP he might have complained about the vaseline thing, but he hasn’t mentioned too much recently. I was watching an interview with BJ Penn the other night and I noticed he’s changed a bit. There was no mention of the vaseline thing, but rather he came clean by admitting that he had been beaten up pretty bad. In fact, I thought he humbled himself when he said something like, (paraphrase) “… I was done after the second round. If you’d have told me what happened in the 3rd and 4th rounds, you’d have had to show me a tape … if it had gone into the 5th round it could have been career-ending.” That’s a lot for someone like him to admit.

Penn had his butt handed to him but I really think he came out of this with a lot more humility and that was something he was missing before fighting GSP.

What will he do against Kenny Floria? Don’t know, but I think he’ll be a lot better prepared than he was against GSP; both physically and mentally. Still, I’d like to see Floria take the belt. He trains with a group of fighters that includes GSP and it would give that group another belt.

  2. Bj Penn is the biggest douche ever. He got beat on pretty bad. “GSP is a front runner, a quitter” GSP made him eat those words. Also I noticed that St. Pierre passed his guard at will. There’s a big difference between grappling jiu jitsu and mma jiu jitsu, Bj may be really talented in grappling but he’s no where near where St. Pierre is in mma jiu jitsu. St. Pierre will beat Anderson Silva as well.

  3. it looked like gsp was beating up a chubby, spoiled little baby. penn really looked bad and i believe he should put vaseline up his ass to cool down.

  4. In my opinion BJ penn won. Every punch, elbow, Knee, and Kick was CLEARLY blocked by BJ’s face and head. BJ backed up everything he said pre fight. The reason his corner stopped the fight is because there was a clear disadvantage to poor GSP ’s fists that took such a beating from BJ’s face. BJ’s corner really did GSP a favor.

  5. I just read that BJ wants to once again settle the score on who is better between himself and GSP. Is he serious? I mean really. I think to everyone who saw that fight saw it is as plain as a Hawaiian day.

Firstly, BJ should apply muzzles on all the “fluffers” around him in his camp who seem more like band groupies… hyping up his already inflated ego and rendering him delusional into thinking he is better than he really is. Now… I’m not trivializing his talent because he’s awesome. But he is an awesome LIGHTWEIGHT, He should beware of making himself look bad twice.

However, if he really is THAT caught up in his own little fantasy and does cry for a rematch, he should be forced to… for instance… either fight someone like Alvez in order to get the rematch… OR… let’s make it interesting… if he loses to GSP he should lose HIS lightweight belt and have to win it back in the lightweight division. Make HIM put something on the line… because in the last fight he put NOTHING on the line other than his megalomania. Next time BJ should have to “earn” the money the public pays to see him… not simply “get it” because he’s Dana White’s little pet. He should be put in an actually position to actually put up… or shut up.

  6. he got his ass kicked , vaseline , or no vaseline.

  7. There are no post fight interviews from BJ Penn becuase he left like a 10 year old mad because he didnt get to go to the swimming pool with his friends. BJ was taken to the local hospital to be checked out and treated, so he was in the hospital is the reason why he was at no pres conferences after the fight. The first fight between BJ and GSP, GSP won. The second fight, GSP has grown asa fighter and it can be argued that he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world no matter whether he is or not. If and when BJ fights again at 155, if he doesnt quit and cry around saying that is going to retire so he can put a bottle in his babies mouth and take her to the school bus so he is going to retire (quit) then that will be that but @ 155 Kenny Florian will take his belt . Diego Sanchez would dominate him.Matt Serra at 155 would even beat him. That dude Clay Guida would wear him down and beat him. BJ would quit. Nate Diaz would pull out a decision on BJ.There are several guys at 155 that would beat BJ, that BJ has avoided. BJ only fights when he has to and will keep belts for as long as possible, not by winning but by fighting once every several months like Chuck Liddell always has. Liddell kept his belt for so long becuase he hardly defended it. BJ will be the same. If Bj fought just about anyone else at 170 to put a few wins under his belt before he took on GSP which would befair would have been a killer for Penn as Dana White knew the monty fight is with BP vs GSp. If Penn fought anyone else at 170 lbs beforehand he would have gotten his a** kicked. Hughes would have out hustled him again. Hughes is history. Serra would have beat him. Serra is history. Koshcheck would have destroyed BJ. Jon Fitch would have picked BJ apart. Condit would beat BJ. Cerrone and VArner would beat BJ. Kampmann would beat BJ. Sanchez would beat the hell out of BJ. There are several others at 170 BJ would have gotten his a** kicked by so Dana White knew this so he put it together quickly or there never would have been Penn vs GSP 2. End of story on that. BJ was always one of my fav fighters but he never was or never will be in a class with GSP in fighting or anything else. At 155 if Bj doesnt quit will never see him get beaten badly by Sanchez because Sanchez would probably be hisn next fight after Florian takes his belt. He will retire (quit) after Florian takes his belt. If Bj fought uriah Faber,Mike Brown,Leonard Garcia or Miguel Torres at catch weight they would beat his ass to. lol. Have a good day!

  8. A true champion consists of honor, respect, valor, heart, and many other things bj penn does not have as a fighter, a man, or a champion, bj penn is the champ in the 155 division because of his talent. His talent is not enough to beat a true champion in GSP at the 170! That in my opinion was the best fight I have seen to date, simply because I got to watch bj penn get his face smashed for 20 minutes! If bj didnt lick matt huges blood of his gloves after choking out huges & if he kept his mouth shut, & wasnt so cocky, it wouldnt have been the best fight I have seen. I look forward to ken flo choking bj out in the future. thats my 2 cents

  9. I wonder if dana white gave bj **** for giving such a **** performance and thats why he is saying he is thinking about retireing now. It was really incredible tahat he quit. really. He could have gone out there and at least done something! Damn, what an asshole. He is really a jerk off. I think the only reason nobody noticed it before is because his opponents lately have been even bigger assholes than him (sean sherk? what a head case. effing roid rage).

  10. If BJ Penn were GSP he would have beat GSP

  11. BJ Penn is the biggest loser in the world. I hope after the fight he went into his hotel room, stared at the TV and F***ed himeslf. Cause he got taken wined and dined by GSP’s fists in the cage. and also that’s what he told GSP’s trainer to do after Penn said he would KILL GSP!

If BJ can keep his stupid mouth shut maybe he’ll be a good fighter again someday.

For now, he should shut the hell up and stick his thumb in his mouth.

and all this crap his camp is saying about the Vaseline! What a piece of garbage. Here’s how you know someone is a BJ Penn.

    1. They lose a UFC fight and then afterwards claim that they did not lose.
    2. They talk more trash than a drunk Irishman in Dublin celebrating after the Irish rugby team thrashes England.
    3. They get in the cage to avenge the fight they lost and get their ass handed to them on a silver platter.
    4. After the fight, they claim the other guy was too slippery and that’s why they lost.

Here’s the solution for BJ. Quit flappin your F****in gums like a jilted bitch and win your damn fights.

Or, do your self a favor and retire you goofy lookin little bitch!

  12. Yeah, K-Flo’s pretty good. Mental edge is a big thing in this sport, and I think BJ just gave all the guys in his division a mental edge over him in upcoming fights. Look what happened to Mike Tyson once his head got so big he stopped training seriously. He got lazy, started talking outrageous trash to pump himself up, and no one was scared of him anymore. One sound thrashing will change a fighter. BJ’s got such a big ego that he probably won’t bounce back like a champ, he’ll probably be torn up from the inside out about it. With his mental edge gone and other fighters mental edge up, he’ll have to rely on hard training…yeah right…or a lucky punch, just like Tyson did. Didn’t work out so hot for Mike, probably won’t for BJ either. He’s going to retire.

  13. For all you that think for a second that BJ did not do his silent best in having his corner stop the fight, your absolutely delusional. He was intentionally not responding to the questions being asked of him so he would not have to outright say “I can’t go on because i’m a fat vacationing bitch”.

That said, who could blame him after all his teeth grinding and “kill you comments” yawn!

BJ, take another vacation from your vacation. Get some crowded waves on the North Shore and think of some good s*** to say about Ken-Flo before he also embarrasses you.

  14. BJ did not file a complaint….he SAID he is going to file a complaint….. he has to make up some excuse after all the trash talking he did.
With regard to how wet some of the fighters are….anyone who knows anything at all about combat sports knows that these guys are warming up for about 45 minutes prior to the start of a fight. That creates sweat….hence slippery skin.
I dont think everyone is bitchy at penn because he lost…. he is just such as easy target because he shoots hi mouth off so much and cant back it up at all. Training would have been a good idea for this fight….and no, carrying rocks 10 feet underwater is not training….it is an excuse to hang out at the beach and make it look like you are doing something.
The guy is a dickhead…..so gratifying to watch an asshole get his head kicked in

  15. man. as well as bj and bjs men making excuses or not. and just because bj penn did get dominated, people need to stop talking s*** about bj penn saying hes spoiled and a bitch blah blah because he went up a weight class to fight someone because he wants to be the best. Although he talked s*** at a point he still is the best in his weight class and is a reason he was in the weight class hes in. so no need to call bj a bitch or any of that because he is still a prodigy and is still knocking people out and is a black belt in BJJ within 3 years.

  16. So… BJ and his Super Duper Excuse Team men are actually gonna go through with their “greasing” filing. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
So what if you completely embarrassed yourself by getting dominated after we all listened to your omnipotent vomit-inducing pre-fight rantings? Based on your own pre-fight hype, you earned more money than you were worth that night to the fans who paid to see you fight “to the death.” Take the $150,000 you made, consider it a gift for a lackluster performance, and suck this all up like a man.

  17. Yeah, seriously, if you wanna bash BJ for being a douche, please do so. The fact that he’s Hawaiian has nothing to do with it. Hawaii is awesome. Let’s be for real though, all the natural talent in the world doesn’t excuse the fact that he’s a complete douche. He should be forced to wear a big white plastic applicator on his head and spew out vinegar like the douchebag he emulates. I see him like a rock band that acts like they’re the shiznit and puts down every other band around, promotes a concert and says it’s going to be the most awesome concert in the history of music, but shows up after not practicing much and they suck. Even if they have natural talent, if they don’t work hard, they’ll suck. Lame. Gimmee back my $50 you slacker douche! Athletes don’t owe the public anything…unless they’re on PPV! Once that happens, you’re a performer. If you don’t perform, you’re ripping people off. Do a friggin sit up or something, man! You used to be exciting to watch! Now the debate is, “Will he gas in the first round? Or second?” I’d bet money he retires very soon. We may have seen his last fight.

  18. well said randy well said

  19. C …BJ Penn is a great fighter. But c’mon man Vaseline yes that is why he lost the fight. I just want to hear what he has to say does anybody have anything yet?

  20. to the death george, to the death. Hey BJ I hope this teaches you , don’t let your mouth write cheaques your body can’t cash, &Oh ya you probably should not call anybody else a quitter before you look in a mirror

  21. Rob china has 1.3 billion people? so what the point I was trying to make was the diversity of countries and only people with limited knowledge on the sport resort to patriotism. Yes true GSP has lost any fighter worth his salt has lost. The mark of a champion is what you do after are you better from that loss? or do you fade away GSP has proven the type of warrior he is and I hope BJ does the same learn from his defeat.
    Nobody wins them all!

  22. BJ at no point showed that he was capable of winning the fight.

  23. BJ is still a great fighter regardless if he lost…. I am a huge BJ fan and yes I was very dissapointed but For you arrogant racist MF WE GET THE POINT THAT HE LOST BUT THERE IS NO REASON TO CALL HIM OUT OF HIS NAME AND WHATS UP WITH THIS HAWAIIAN REMARKS?> I GUESS ITS EASY FOR YOU TO BAD MOUTH HIM OVER THE INTERNET..YOU FOLKS ARE THE JOKES CAUSE YOU KNOW DAMN WELL YOU WOULD NOT DO IT INFRONT OF HIM…FOR GSP TO BE A CHAMPION WHAT WAS ALL THE VASELINE FOR??

  24. Hi , Im a canadian and more specific , im from montreal ,quebec the home town of GSP, first of all congratulations to george he deserved to be the champ , becauce he is by far the best now. And for all the people who goes at bj defense i will say two words ( F*** S***) BJ look like a # 10 contender against st-pierre and he has a f***** big mouth , propably shut right now. salute to all GSP fAN.

  25. I think it’s sad that they can’t take the fact that they lost now they are trying to justify why….BJ…just take the fact that you lost….gosh

  26. The fight was over before it even started.
BJ looked scared coming into the ring, Rogan was saying he looked calm, but to me he looked like he didn’t want to be in the ring with GSP.
Of course that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong.

  27. what is the story with the vaseline on gsp’s body. Is that real? I noticed one submission bj was trying to execute and his legs slid down gsp’s torso even thought bj looked like he was really cranking on the submission. I think it was like the second round. I thought to myself Man those dudes must be really sweaty and slippery for gsp to have slipped out of that submissoin. Is it typical for the fighters to be so slick at the second round that there is no traction for a submission? For those of you who don;t know, bj’s camp has formally filed a complaint with Nevada athletic comission regarding vaseline on gsps body, an allegation that dana white (that guy is such a jerk off sometimes isnt he?) confirmed by recounting the ref had spotted gsps cornerman putting vaseline on his back and he took the vaseline and kicked it out of the ring while rebuking the cornerman. What is up?

  28. GSP is a champion and a gentleman. A complete fighter. While BJ is the complete opposite. He likes to talk shit and now he is eating his own shit !!!! I love to see the next fight between GSP and Alves

  29. Nick, Wake up dude! What are you talking about “If BJ had the exact same cardio and muscle endurance as gsp…. Who would win??? BJ Penn” ??? That’s like saying “If I had the same body and training as Alton Bolton I’d be as fast as Bolton!” That’s just dumbass!! It’s also called a 3rd conditional – meaning impossible or a fantasy. Damn, you may as well of said “If BJ had only had a pony he would have won” too!

GSP simply dominated Penn, and I mean he completely dominated him. BJ didn’t win the first round but he did do his best in the first round by basically not getting the crap kicked out of him then. Unfortunately for BJ, doing well in the first round of any fight doesn’t matter unless it leads to a victory. That’s why fights are 3 rounds or, as in this case, 5 rounds for the championship.

And one thing in defense of BJ. There is no shame in having the fight called by his corner. The dude has the heart to match his ego – which is necessary for any champion and BJ is a champion. He would have kept on fighting until he was knocked the sh*t out! His brother called it because he knew BJ could have been and probably would have been seriously hurt. The Penns are a close family and BJ is a father of a young baby. His brother made the right decision to protect BJ. No shame in that.

  30. I can’t believe bj lost even after carrying that big rock on the bottom of the ocean (what a joke). For all you “if bj only did this or that” sayers, wow…imagine if GSP ran rocks around on the bottom of the ocean or took a week off of his training camp to “peak on the 31st.” Imagine if GSP focused all his energy on flapping his mouth off saying useless stuff instead of training hard. We’d probably have a closer fight as a result but no…gsp did what he said…did his talking inside the octagon resulting in a total ass whooping for BJ. Not surprised there’s no post fight interviews. Guys who talk shit before fights are like insecure teenagers. He probably slammed the door to his change room because he was mad just like my 13 year old niece.

  31. Wonder what’s next for BJ? I wish his cardio was better.

  32. Bj is s*** talkin pussy Ken Flo is gonna drop him at 155

  33. Miguel,Canada may be the second largest land mass in the world, but there’s only 30 million people living here.Compare that with 300 million living in the US.

As a Canadian I can give you my perspective on the trash talk.I thought GSP was a little hypocritical with his comment “it’s easy to talk but hard to fight”.BJ may like to shoot his mouth off,but BJ never tapped out to strikes from Serra.GSP has come a long way,but he admits he was mentally defeated by Hughes in their first fight before he ever stepped in the ring.BJ on the other hand has been a true warrior from day one. It’s almost like GSP forgot how many times he’s gotten his @ss kicked or something.BJ has to swallow his words now though, and I have a funny feeling he’ll never be the same fighter again. That’s how bad he got beat .

  34. Just saw you news in your blog about the win of GSP. I am so happy that this BJ Penn got silenced. He is lazy and is not really serious about MMA. It is not anylonger street fighting but more likely a lucrative career for the right mindset and talent. No douby that BJ has tallent, but he is wasting it with not beeing focussed enough. Congrats to George St Pierre – ce manifique

  35. I like both bj and gsp, and honestly thought it would be a better fight than we all saw. Gsp dominated bj from the second round on and in my opinion won the first. The first fight in my opinion was won by Gsp if you score it the way the ufc does round by round, first for bj the last two for gsp. However if in was scored by overall fight i would have given it to bj. The second fight was all gsp though. I am excited to hear bj’s comment about this fight though, I am sure he will have plenty of excuses and it has already started with bj’s corner complaining of vasiline on gsp’s back, like it would have made a difference. If anyone knows where to find a post fight interview from bj. thanks

  36. BJ did say he was going to “Kill” GSP. BJ is a rich kid who likes to threaten, fight and humiliate white tourists who make the mistake of going to bars alone. Just a bad, racist guy who pretends he’s Hawaiian when he’s portugese, Balinese and Korean. The guy has ripped people off for $, me personally, and was very confident for this fight just because all he spent on designer roids from his new brazilian contacts. I am SO glad he not only looked lazy, but he quit by ignoring his doctors questions, everyone knows that’s just a prideful way to quit…

  37. whos the quitter now

  38. Look, BJ Penn is a great fighter. I still don’t think there is much of an argument that he IS NOT one of the best in the world. However, he was beaten and beaten badly. I would never attempt to second guess his training methods as I am not a UFC fighter, but having wrestled for many years, I know the discipline it takes to stay train as hard as they do. I’m sure he worked hard and thought he was ready, but in the end GSP was just the better fighter with a better plan. What I DO hold BJ accountable for is his constant trash talk of not only GSP, but every single opponent he has. No joke. The guy insults everyone and I’m sure it will be the same the next time. Grow up BJ. Have a little class, honor and respect and represent us Hawaiians as you should. GSP, you are the man. Enjoy it, ’cause you’ve earned it. Best of luck to both of these guys in their future fights.

  39. unbelieveable ……. some of the comments. it really doesn’t matter whether bj won the first round or not, he got worked, period. he didn’t or couldn’t do anything for the rest of the fight. and all of the “if bj did this or that” is nonsense. he had months to get ready for this fight, no excuses. as for being a traitor, sheesh, i’m a fight fan and i don’t care where you come from. if you’re a great fighter that’s all i care about. bj penn is still a great fighter at 155. he was out-classed. as for bj’s mouth…….well he hype’s all of his fights. when he stops fighting he’ll be the best promoter in the world.

  40. Nick you have no idea what you are talking about if bj and gsp fought 100 rounds b j might win only 4 tops. Your scoring is also way off and you should save the money next time and rent a movie.

  41. I beg to differ Jessie, while BJ is a fine fight er until he learns how important his cardio the se other guys r gonna push him until he beaks unless they get caught. So far this is proving out ot be a good strategy. That being said you sir are dead wrong about the “and I mean nobody” shit about 155. I would be willing to make a sizable wager that Ken-Flo Kenny Florian will tear BJ another new asshole like my boy GSP did. Who cares where a fighter is from by the way GSP is the man and I want somehow (meet in middle wt class) for him and Anderson Silva to fight. Jessie get a clue!

  42. Nick summed it up. IF BJ Penn had the cardio and muscle endurance. If If if. If don’t mean F*/$# all IF you don’t do it. BJ Penn is a cocky wank who blew his chance to be remembered as a great champ. Now he’s a chump who could have beaten GSP IF!!! what a joke

  43. Now is the time we get to see what kind of fighter BJ Penn really is.

He got his ass kicked and will spend the next few weeks eating the shit he talked before this fight.

If he keeps talking shit and refuses to realize his true fighting potential, then he’s a just bitch with a belt who will lose it soon.

I love Hawaii and BJ Penn does not represent anything that is good about the Hawaii citizens I know.

GSP has come back from severe loses before and was humbled by them. Every fighter gets beat by someone, right?

However unfortunate for BJ Penn, Georges St. Pierre is as difficult to control in the octagon as Penn’s mouth is out of the octagon.

  44. 155.
    faber catch weight?
    brown?

  45. Hey Scorsesegirl… who cares if GSP is Canadian? It’s not about supporting a Canadian, Amerian, or whatever. It’s simply about supporting a better fighter. Hawaii IS the bomb… merely to visit.

  46. penn IS GREAT.
his greatest attributes were neutralized as GSP said – he tired out his shoulder/punching power. the jujitsu was also less of a threat as the fight went on.
BJ shouldn’t have clinched early on.
WAS it his gameplan (perhaps to close the distance?!)
doesn’t seem lke a good idea in hindsight – however I thought that an eartly KO was B

    J’s best plan

  47. Scorsesegirl the Canadians name is GSP and he’s French-Canadian its quite a large country with lots of different people from all around the world Penn is native hawaiin a little Island in the pacific ocean. But if you feel the need to make it a nationality issue to ease the pain of that beat down whatever. Let people who love the sport know that champions come from all over the world no matter nationality. Yes I’m Canadian but that doesnt make me a traitor for liking Anderson Silva or Fedor. Hawaii is the bomb but BJ got schooled it was hilarious to watch cant wait to see what he has to say now LOL

  48. Scorsesegirl:

This is a discussion on MMA, not a poll on geography.

While both fighters are talented, the Hawaiian is an ass hat and the Canadian is a classy gentleman.

    Oh yeah…recognize.

  49. Hey Nick “if Penn had the exact same cardio and muscle as gsp” lame excuse. If you want something you have to go out and earn it, to have what gsp has takes years of serious dedication. BJ doesnt have the mental ability to stay that focused while sitting on a beach. Why not say if Penn weighed 205 hed be the champ there too, LOL.. Jassle I realize you wanna marry BJ but after the butt whoppen he got last night I saw no talent. Your like Penn everything that comes out of your mouth is crap!

  50. Nick it should be obvious GSP is a far better fighter. saying if BJ had trained more or harder trying to justify the humiliating loss doesnt matter. BJ had his chance to train and prepare, GSP won through hard work, discipline, and heart. Thats what Penn needs more of!

  51. I have to start out with Great win GSP. GSP dominated all aspects of the fight from the start to the end. GSP’s cardio and training is superior to BJ’s. By the way GSP won the first fight as well dumb ass. BJ is a great fighter and needs to stay at 155. It was low of BJ to call GSP a quitter. I am looking forward to GSP’s fight against Thiago Alves.

  52. All of you who supported the Canadian are traitors. Hawaii is still the bomb….recognize.

  53. BJ Penn won the first round. The striking was even and yes GSP was the aggressor by trying the takedown but he got stuffed. Stuffing a takedown is worth more than the attempt. BJ needs to train with other camps, it will make a huge difference. If BJ had the exact same cardio and muscle endurance as gsp…. Who would win??? BJ Penn

  54. Can’t seem to find any post-fight interviews with BJ (Big Joke). It’s probably a Dana White escape tactic for protecting his little butt sniffer in the agony of utter defeat. This all wouldn’t have been a big deal had Penn simply displayed some calculated forethought by keeping his mouth shut his mouth pre-fight… “just in case.” Now he has a whole lot of explaining to do. What a dumb ass.

  55. Hey JassleCastle go *** yourself! BJ lost the 1st fight. Get over it. It was 3 years ago.

He did win the 1st round of that fight, mostly because of a cheap eye poke and the obvious damage delivered to GSP, but in the following 2 rounds BJ gassed and was dominated by the Champ. End of story!

If that fight had of been a 5 rounder, like this one, it would have ended the exact same way – with BJ quiting because he was too beat up and tired too continue.

I said it from the day this fight was announced that BJ didn’t deserve an instant title shot at welterweight and I was right. His last two fights at welterweight were loses right before he headed down to lightweight, and just because he won a few fights there and begged for the title shot against GSP he got it? Not fair, but the beating he got Saturday was more than fair. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if he somehow died from too many punches to the head. Then at least his pre-fight comments wouldn’t have left him looking like such a clown. “Too the death. I’m not gonna stop” hahahahaha… Looks good on ya! You f*** quitter!!!

Hey BJ, go take another vacation and lounge on the beach, you fat lazy little f*** Hawaiian bitch!!!

DAMON – I will no longer allow anymore name calling/personal bashing or swearing on my comments. The fight is over people. Take a chill pill and relax.

  56. When you resort to calling people names just to get your point across then you have lost every fight…inside or outside the ring. BJ Penn had lost before he entered the fight the same way!!!

  57. It seemed destined to be after hearing BJ brag he was going to kill George and quote “I am not kidding about that”. Just seeing the insights to how they were both training in the perspective camps, I saw fire in GSP’s training and average in BJ’s. I personally wanted BJ to win because of the first match up but even then, BJ did not finish off GSP when he had his chance. BJ has skills and I feel he basically beat himself by thinking he could do what he didn’t do the first time, faster & better, without training like it was all he cared about. GSP said it best when he said “It’s easy to talk but hard to fight”. I hope BJ learns from this event because he would be even more devastating with the focus GSP gave training for this fight. UFC FOREVER!

  58. Randy you stupid f—–
GSP is a great fighter dont get me wrong, but to say BJ Penn has no talent is the dumbest f*** thing I have ever fuckin heard, nobody and I mean nobody can f*** with bj penn at 155. If you have seen any of the other penn fights at welterweight the same thing happens he slows down and his conditioning faulters. By the way he beat St. Pierre in the first fight dumb f***k. Learn something about MMA before opening your ****

  59. ACTUALLY..gsp was not trying to knock him out..he wanted him to tap because penn called him a bitch for tapping..gsp could have had him knocked out in the second if he wanted to..last night was all gsp..penn didn’t have a chance from the start and you could tell he was scared..who is the bitch now penn?

  60. As a BJ Penn fan I can say that stung. Even before the lose I made some decisions and the fight solidified them.

BJ needs to stop this shirade about kill you and to the death stuff. If he cant pump himself up for a fight without sayhing stupid stuff like that then he does not need to be fighting. Its like he cant fight unless he makes it personal. GSP is a Gentlemen and a killer.

I also lost repsect for BJ and his team calling the fight. Not because it was wrong but because of the trashtalking “to the death” stuff.

  61. GSP is in a total different class in & out of the cage, Dana was discussed in the fight because he is such a BJ fan himself & gave GSP no respect in the cage after the fight, just put his belt on & got out of there. Bull S##t fight anyways, BJ had nothing to loose, should have had to put his belt on the line too ( to go to top contender if he lost) only fair or what??? I did not see any where Dana calling GSP to see if he is training & telling him to take it seriously, but he was sure calling BJ! Why is Dana, Joe ect… so pro everyone but GSP ??? Because he is from Canada?? big f##kn deal, there is alot of good fighters up there & lots down here too.

  62. BJ didn’t “have it?” last night ??? These guys had MONTHS to prepare. How much time does he NEED to have it? YEARS? BJ is very good(especially when he cuts weight and gets in shape and is in his proper weight class). Remember how ripped his body was in years past? THAT was championship form. He was saying on TV George should “F___ himself. BJ just disses people who are in shape saying” Strength does not win fights”. Yet, last night he couldn’t keep Georges leather out of his big mouth long enough to say anything. George will be a great champion for now, But all champions fade. Just do it with class!!
Oh yea…..George was not trying to submit BJ. He was trying to knock him OUT. He was manhandling him like BJ was a boy. So much for strength not being important.

  63. Gary:

Yes, people can have their own opinion, but when said opinion differs so much from reality the rest of us call your opinion “fantasy”, “delusion” and/or “insanity”

You feel free to believe whatever you want to believe and the rest of the world will stick with what really happened last night.

  64. Awesome domination by GSP. He out struck BJ and beat him on the ground. GSP fought the nearly perfect fight. There is not longer any question of who is the better fighter. BJ is a great fighter but he belongs at 155. I am searching for a BJ post fight interview with no luck, any leads?

  65. Hey BJ,

    Who’s the quitter now. Bitch.

  66. What happend to bj’s “to the death?” He has even less dignity than roberto duran, who never talked trash before his fight with sugar ray. BJ seems to come from a good middle class family but he is really getto.

  67. It was a pure and simple total domination of BJ Penn, in every aspect of the fight. GSP man handle BJ like he was a child, and passed his guard at will, even with the short exchanges on the feet GSP landed the most shots,m and done the most damage. To define round 1, GSP totally controled BJ and eventually secured a take down, slightly jarring BJ with a over hand right. I can not wait to hear what BJ has to say for himself, its a peice of huimble pie I wuold hate to have to swallow. Come on Alves, it will be a bigger challenge for GSP for sure, but won he will meet.

  68. I like how BJ called GSP a quiter before the fight and how if he pushes the fight GSP will quit. Champs finish fights even if they lose, which goes to prove that bj is nothing but rich spoiled guy surrounded by yes men. Biggest fight of the year, lol, but not to worry they can have a rubber match. Ohh right bj lost both of them, go back to light wieght and flaunt your so called talents there. P.S. Im sure Dana White is impressed with your performance, so one sided, what a joke. nuff said.

  69. if BJ barely won the round what was it that he did to win it? i just want to know your logic. btw you dont get points for take down defense or getting out of submissions.

  70. Jason / dale:

Not high. I said “barely”. Relax…it’s over…people can have different opinions.

  71. can’t believe anyone could watch that fight and think that bj was even in any round. first round was not dominant but was integral to the overall fight plan which should have been predictable to any mma fan. wear him down, test his cardio before exposing yourself to the usual pin point accuracy of the bj jab.

  72. Gary are you high? What in god’s green Earth did BJ Penn do in the first round that you think he won? GSP had him against the ring the whole time, Bj Penn never threatened him ever in any round including round 1. I admit GSP was not killing him in round 1 but clearly he won round one. You clearly were pulling for BJ (WHICH IS FINE) but you are the only person who thinks having your back against the ring with zero offesnive moves wins a round.

  73. gsp won the first round also.he was the dominant one coming forward and pushing the pace, even though he did not get the takedown. i would have liked to see a post fight interview with bj. he deserves that embarassment.gsp is a gentleman

  74. gsp is the greatest

  75. I gave Round 1 to BJ (barely), but it was all GSP after that.

Yeah, BJ just didn’t have it tonight…as if he was waiting for GSP to make a mistake..which never really happened.
