I just noticed an interesting blog developing in Hawaii. I don’t know much about the blogger, but they sure have posted a few interesting pictures the last few days.
This picture from 1947, is of the First Consul General of the Phillipines to Hawaii and the USA:
They haven’t posted that much yet… but the pictures they have posted are certainly interesting, and it looks like the blog is just picking up a bit of steam.
The Hawaii County Planning Commission will be split in two come April, but present members will retain their posts…
…Corporation Counsel Lincoln Ashida said Thursday the nine members of the Planning Commission will be divvied between the two new seven-member commissions, both of which will begin operation in April…
…Mayor Billy Kenoi will have to find five more volunteers to serve on the commissions, a process that is in its infancy stage, Char Shigemura, one of Kenoi’s executive assistants, said Thursday.
Shigemura said residents interested in serving on one of the new commissions are urged to submit applications…
We all know the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
When I first moved to Hawaii, I was rolling laughing when I heard the song “Numbah One Day of Christmas”
So from the “PUNA JUNGLE“… I bring you “Grandma NAN” Singing “Numbah One Day of Christmas”
Lyrics:
- by Eaton B. Magoon Jr., Edward Kenny, Gordon N. Phelps (Below)
Numbah One day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
One mynah bird in one papaya tree.
Numbah Two day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Two coconut, an’ one mynah bird in one papaya tree.
Numbah Tree day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Tree dry squid, two coconut,

I’m sure most of us were just as surprised as Hunter Bishop was when he was selected by Mayor-Elect Billy Kenoi to work on his “Team”.
On Bishop’s last blog, he mentioned his new job title would be:
“Public Information Officer”
In a recent media release, he signed his name:
Hunter Bishop – Public Relations Specialist
I asked Mr. Bishop what his official title was, and he confirmed that it is:
“PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST”
I’m not sure what the real difference is or if there even is a difference. I just thought I’d put it out there that his new job title is different then what he originally posted on his “Swan Song”.
I just noticed that the location where Big Island Pizza used to be at in the Malama Market Shopping Center, there is a new bake shop and deli opening soon where the Pizza shop used to be.
“Pooki’s Bake Shop and Deli”
Interesting name to say the least.
The sign on the door did not say when it was opening.
I just took a cruise through Pahoa and I noticed across from Luquins Restaurant that another restaurant is “Returning” to business. The Pahoa Village Cafe will be opening it’s doors soon for business which will give Pahoa residents one more choice to choose from a limited amount of restaurants that are here.
