Mokulele Olelo Lolo?

I won’t say that I understand or speak Hawaiian, so I might be wrong in assuming the following.

Mokulele Airlines… What a strange name.

Doesn’t Mokulele mean “Airline” in Hawaiian?

So isn’t this kind of like calling it “Airline Airlines”?

Kind of like “Pahoa” means “Dagger” in Hawaiian.

That makes the Pahoa Dagger Sports teams the “Dagger Daggers?”

  1. Just like Ukulele = Jumping flea;-)

  2. “Moku” is Hawaiian for island. “Lele” means to leap or jump.
thus MOKULELE can be translated as “Island hopper”.
