McCain Camp Proposing to Cancel VP Debates if There’s No Financial Bailout…Obama Objects

I just noticed this on  CNN Political Ticker:

McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there’s no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis…

Well no sooner then I read that article… I read that Obama has rejected this plea by McCain.

  1. Could this be Obama’s Katrina? Most issues can be allowed to fester, but a historic financial issue akin to those of 1932 (the Great Depression) and 1989 (the founding of the RTC) at a minimum require showing face.
