My Unofficial “Polls” Closing Tomorrow

I just wanted to thank everyone and anyone who participated in the political polls I had running.

With the primaries pau.. I’ll start new polls for the continuing candidates.

Effing Crazy Ass Neighbors!

Domestic abuse is something that sucks.

My neighbors like to fight a lot, and I’ve been told by my wife that calling the cops doesn’t do anything.

Well they were fighting tonight… and I didn’t even have to make a call… the cops showed up!

I don’t know what happened… and I’m not really gonna go into much details of what I saw, however, domestic abuse sucks…  If a man ever hits a woman in front of me… they better be prepared for me to start video taping with my cell phone or something!

I thought they had moved away… but I guess they are back!

Everyone tends to have that effing neighbor somewhere in their neighborhood… mine happens to be right next door.

Today’s KO

You gotta love a deer with revenge on it’s mind!

4.2 Earthquake Hits Big Island (edit) Upgraded to 4.3

The weird thing though… I’m about 11miles from where the epicenter was and I didn’t feel anything.

Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) Spacecraft to Land in Hawaii

This is kind of cool:

The IBEX spacecraft, its upper stage booster and the Pegasus XL rocket are in the Orbital Sciences launch vehicle hangar at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California…

…Departure of the L-1011 carrying the Pegasus XL rocket with IBEX from Vandenberg currently is planned for Oct. 10. After a stop in Hawaii, the flight will continue and arrive at the Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein Atoll in the south Pacific on Oct. 11…

Here is some more info on the IBEX

Honolulu Third Most Expensive City in US for Parking

I now feel very fortunate that I had free parking at my last job over there on Oahu.

Monthly Parking costs were compiled and Honolulu was third highest at $388.59 Per month to park

Topping the list overall for monthly unreserved parking were New York City, $478.75; Boston; $436.75, and Honolulu, $388.59.

But then again…not much will beat this parking space that sold for $115,500 just to park a car somewhere.

…Agents speak often of the parking space on 21st Street in Georgetown that was listed for $100,000 but sold for $111,500 in May 2005, the height of the local real estate frenzy…

Forbes Magazine: Hawaii’s Economy Won’t Recover Until 2010

Just saw this report from Forbes:

A new economic forecast predicts visitor arrivals to Hawaii will tumble this year and the state economy won’t recover until 2010.

The University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization report released Friday shows Hawaii is losing jobs and personal incomes will shrink.

The forecast expects visitor arrivals to fall 9 percent this year, nearly double its estimate from June following a weak summer tourism season.

One of the study’s authors, Carl Bonham, says Hawaii’s economy is shrinking, which means the state will enter a recession.

Tourism has suffered this year due to rising fuel prices, the national credit crunch and the departure of Aloha Airlines and ATA Airlines.

The Honolulu Advertiser reports that Hawaii is slipping into a recession:

A forecast being released today shows Hawai’i is tipping into a recession as job losses and a decline in personal income shrink the state’s economy.
